DALLAS, TX (August 22, 2016) — Metropolitan Anesthesia Consultants, one of the largest physician-only anesthesia groups in North Texas, today announced that it has selected three anesthesiologists to join their team.
Jeremy Bates, MD joined the team July 1, 2016. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas at Houston Medical School and completed his anesthesiology residency at UT Southwestern/Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he also served as Chief Resident. He is active in multiple societies and associations, including the American Society of Anesthesiology, Texas Medical Association, and Dallas County Anesthesiology Society. As an anesthesiology resident, he also worked with obstetric patients providing anesthesiology services to both high risk and healthy obstetric patients in both the peripartum and perioperative arenas.
Todd Stamatakos, MD followed Dr. Bates in early August 2016 to join Metro’s team. He received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia and earned The Alan Edelsohn Memorial Prize for Outstanding Leadership and Service to the Class of 2012 and the Award for Highest Commendation Year One Peer Review. He went on to complete his anesthesiology residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Before completing his medical degree, Dr. Stamatakos spent 9 years in the military serving as F-16 Crew Chief in the Air Force, Texas Air National Guard, and New Jersey Air National Guard. He is associated with the American Society of Anesthesiologists, District of Colombia Society of Anesthesiologists and the Pennsylvania Medical Society. He received multiple awards while serving in the Air National Guard, including the 149th Maintenance Group Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year and the Airman Leadership Seminar Honor Graduate and Leadership Award.
Metro’s third hire in mid-August 2016 is Harris Khan, MD. Earning his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Kahn also finished his anesthesiology residency there as well. He completed extensive research through the University of Minnesota and the Mayo Clinic in transplant surgery and clinical research through Weill Cornell Medical College and New York Presbyterian Hospital in cardiac anesthesiology. Dr. Kahn speaks four languages; English, Spanish, Hindi, and Urdu.
